• A country or woodland walk
• Plastic cup 

Description

Before you go out on a woodland walk grab a plastic cup. As you and your grandchild walk along collect any leaves, flowers (not endangered species) moss, twigs – anything your grandchild is interested in. Ask your grandchild to hold their hands over the cup and to give it a shake. They can then open their hands a little to smell the natural woodland perfume they have created.

Duration

• 30 minutes depending on where you are walking. Can be adjusted to suit the child or form part of a longer walk. 

Cost

• Potentially free! - It may cost if you need to buy a cup, drive or catch a bus to where you want to walk, and also if you need to pay an entrance fee to a country park.

• Introduces grandchild to different textures, shapes.
